Devulcanization is a process, in which the quality of the recycled rubber is dependent on various factors such as feedstock, pre-treatment, process conditions and post-treatment. However, the sensitivity of the devulcanizate properties to these parameters varies, and so do the possibilities to improve the quality. In this presentation, different influencing factors are discussed in terms of their efficiency to improve devulcanizate properties with the final aim to identify the ones allowing a significant improvement of quality. This enables producing a high-quality devulcanizate which can replace a considerable part of the virgin rubber.
