The presentation was part of the workshop "Urbanizing Chennai - The role of urban peripheries". This ‘Urbanizing Chennai’ project engages with the four main keywords of the Department of Social Sciences: space, labor, environment, knowledge. It is being conducted in collaboration with partners in India, notably the MIDS in Chennai and the Indo-German Center for Sustainability (IIT-Madras), and in Europe, notably the CEIAS (CNRS-EHESS) in Paris, the University of Cologne in Germany and University of Twente in The Netherlands.
