At the end of 2022, the government published the National Raw Materials Strategy. This strategy “Material resources for the major transitions” defines five areas of action with the aim of improving the security of supply of critical raw materials. The transitions in the energy and other sectors give the Netherlands and the EU the opportunity – and the responsibility – to tackle vulnerabilities in raw material supply chains and reduce the adverse effects of extracting and processing critical raw materials on people and the environment. In this context, civil society has a role to play.
Hereby the Ministries of Infrastructure and Water Management, Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, and Foreign Affairs invite your organization to discuss the strategy and to exchange knowledge. We would like to hear about your experience in the sector and what you see as the biggest opportunities and challenges. While the dialogue with local stakeholders is also part of the action plan for the strategy, this expert session is in-person (non-virtual) and involves mostly Dutch organizations.
