Observability for Infinite Dimensional Port-Hamiltonian Systems through the Hautus Test

Activity: Talk or presentationOral presentation

Description

Observability, and especially exact observability, poses many challenges when aiming to generalise results so that systems may be directly be considered as observable based on a few simple criteria. This, in turn, hinders studies in applications, where observability is currently proven per example at hand or is assumed based on the similarity between systems. In this paper we discuss the challenges posed by the known results from literature for use in domains outside of the mathematical one and analyse if and how the Hautus test for infinite dimensional systems supports the generalisation of results on observability for port-Hamiltonian systems (PHS).
