Parallel architecture proposal: improved numerical simulation of RE-doped micro-tapered optical fibers

Activity: Talk or presentationOral presentation

Description

As shown in previous works, simulations to perform the temperature analysis of rare earth-doped fiber tapers are time consuming, so we propose a parallel architecture that can be adopted to perform numerical simulation and improve approximations to experimental results. The analysis of the temperature response of RE-doped tapered fibres re-defines coupled pump and signal propagation equations in such structures in order to introduce different longitudinal shapes of the longitudinally shaped fibers and the temperature dependence of the absorption and emission cross sections of 3+ rare earth ions for different pump power levels
