Description

Several examples of strong earthquakes in the world show that the impact of a strong earthquake will often last tens to hundreds of years. In order to further reveal the long-term evolution of geological disasters in the Wenchuan Earthquake and improve the risk mapping and control technology of geological disasters in strong earthquake regions, the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geo-Environment Protection in China and International Geographical Information Science and Earth Observation at the University of Tutt In cooperation with the College (ITC), the two parties jointly established a research team for international cooperation on risk management of geological hazards led by Prof. Tang Chuan and Prof. Cees Van Vesten. It took four years to jointly develop the Atlas of Wenchuan-Earthquake Geohazards. 》("Atlas of Earthquake Disasters in Wenchuan Earthquake - Analysis of Geological Hazards Caused by Co-seismic and Post-earthquake" (in English) was formally published by Science Press at the onset of the tenth anniversary of Wenchuan Earthquake.
