Description
The PhD project was about exploring environmental exposure to micro pollutants in Kenya. In this research first the residues of the pollutants (pesticides) in the lake Naivasha catchment was detected using passive sampling method. Then the hydrological model of SWAT was applied to predict the transfer of contaminants in the region. finally the fate of the pollutants was studied using the partitioning approach. The overall results of the research showed that there are still organochlorine pesticides residues in the water resources of Naivasha that need to be monitored and controlled.
