Modern research is moving towards the use of virtual research environments, where a wide range of research data are produced during the whole research lifecycle. In accordance with the FAIR principles, research data should be ideally published and shared at different key milestones during the research. However, the interoperability of research environments and data repositories is currently limited, requiring manual creation of dataset records and uploading of data files, which require significant effort if the datasets are large or should be archived at multiple repositories. In this session, we present and demonstrate JupiterFAIR and related packages that aim to facilitate the preparation and publishing of research datasets, including their different versions, to popular data repositories, such as 4TU.ResearchData, directly from research environments. Our main motivation is to engage the audience in a discussion about how using such tools can advance Open Science practices by lowering barriers, such as reducing manual steps necessary to archive research outputs to research data repositories. The session also serves as a call for promoting research data sharing via JupyterFAIR and for joining the efforts to further develop and improve the tool in a collaborative manner, e.g. by taking part in the Research Data Publishing Practices Survey.
