Description

The importance of studying rainfall cannot be overemphasized due to its numerous research and operational uses. Investigating GPM IMERG-F rainfall estimates over Africa utilising commercial microwave links and Meteosat Second Generation satellite data, is a study that demonstrates a unique method for studying rainfall in general, and in particular in areas with no ground measurements using commercial microwave links and MSG satellite data. The potential use of commercial microwave links and MSG data for evaluating satellite rainfall products and for studying rainfall at spatiotemporal scales that have important implications for hydrometeorology, agriculture, water resource management and many more, are also highlighted.
