Dataset

Description

Model setup for studies:

1. Gijsman, R., Horstman E.M., Swales, MacDonald, I.T., Bouma, T.J., van der Wal, D. and Wijnberg, K.M. (2024a). Mangrove forest drag and bed stabilisation effects on intertidal flat morphology. Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 49(3), 1117–1134. Available from: https://doi.org/10.1002/esp.5758

2. Gijsman, R., Horstman E.M., Swales, A., Balke, T., Willemsen P.W.J.M., van der Wal, D. and Wijnberg, K.M. (2024b). Biophysical modeling of mangrove seedling establishment and survival across an elevation gradient with forest zones. Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface. Submitted January 2024

Folder contains:
* "dflowfm" folder with Delft3D FM setup files of flow and morphological model
* "wave" folder with Delft3D FM setup files of wave model
* "trees" with file of imposed tree cover (indivivual trees) with their x, y location and gridcell number
* "coupled_DFM_seedling_dynamics_model.py" script runs the Delft3D FM model and incorporates seedling dynamics as described in file
* other files to support model simulation

Usage:
- Delft3D FM model and BMI settings needs to be available and installed on local computer, model path needs to be incorporated in python script line 38
- Model simulation can be then be initiated by double clicking on "run_py36_BS_wcf.bat" - Delft3D FM output will be stored in folders "dflowfm/DFM_OUTPUT_fot_flow_wave" and "wave" respectively
- Additional output on e.g., seedlings can be generated within the python script if desired, stored in folder "seedlings"
