High-throughput screening of catalysts in microfluidics
The search for catalytically active materials is one of the key goals in the scientific research field, but it turns out to be a long and laborious process that requires a large number of tests. An attractive alternative to the traditional study and discovery process of heterogeneous catalysts is the use of microfluidic platforms with parallel and independently addressable chambers, which can be used for the preparation and test of a large number of potential catalytic materials in a high-throughput fashion. The microfluidic approach can be capable of rapid screening and optimization of physical and chemical parameters with low material consumption.
