Personal profile

I obtained my master's degree in biomedical engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Ghent University in 2022. During my master's Thesis in polymer chemistry and biomaterial research group, I worked on fabricating and characterizing micro-porous hydrogel scaffolds for orthopedic implants.

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Biomedical Device Design and Production Group at the University of Twente. My research lies in the intersection of mechanical and tissue engineering, focusing on characterizing the machining properties of a wide range of human tissues. Knowledge of these properties is crucial in medical device development and tissue preparation for implant placement and contributes to minimizing the need for animal experiments.
