Christiaan van der Tol (1978) is an assistant professor in 'Ecohydrology and Earth Observation' at the Water Resources department.

Teaching

He supervises MSc students in the department of Water Resources. He also teaches topics in hydrological processes, retrieval of biochemical parameters and fieldwork skills.

Research interests

His research focuses on interactions between ecosystems, climate and hydrology. His interests are:

  • Hydrological and micro-meteorological measurements
  • The use of remote sensing in eco-hydrology
  • Integrating radiative transfer and micro-meteorological modeling
  • Data assimilation
  • Chlorophyll fluorescence
  • Production ecology
