Personal profile

With a background in industrial engineering, I hold a PhD degree from Interploytechnic School of Doctorate (Politecnico di Bari, Politecnico di Milano, and Politecnico di Torino, 2011, Italy). My studies cover a variety of topics among which sustainable supply chain management, circular economic business models, industrial symbiosis networks, decision-making in transition from linear to circular econmomy, use of online IT platforms for sustainable business devleopment. In terms of methodologies input-output modelling, game theory, and agent-based modelling are common approaches that I use in my research.

In UT, I have been teaching several bachelor and master courses among which 'Sustainable Business Development', 'Sustainable Supply Chains for Consumer Products' and 'Sustainable Bioresource Supply Chains'.

During my career, my research has been supported by several grants won from diverse institutions. A list of winner grants can be found in the page of awards. Thanks to the grant won from Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission (total of 6M Euros with a contribution of 725k Euros for UT), I am leading a small research group of 'Sustainable Circular Economy' composed of two PhD students and one post-doctoral researcher. The group is active on decision-making in industrial symbiosis relations, efficient operations of industrial symbiosis networks, cost- and benefit-sharing in industrial symbiosis, recommender development for symbiosis identification, and learning transition to circular economy for process industries.
