Research interests

Dr. Frans Coenen is involved in social science sustainable development research for more than 30 years. Over the years his research particularly focused on local and regional sustainable development and capacity development for sustainable development. He takes a special interest in participation in sustainable development in relation to the quality of environmental decision making. Further, he has a particular interest in adaptation problems to local climate change and demographic change and human capital. He is specialized in environmental policy planning and in public policy evaluation. At this moment he is involved in several research projects in the field of renewable energy and climate policy.
