My research interest is hyperspectral remote sensing and image processing for earth science applications:

  • porting hyperspectral mineral indices to freely available satellite imagery;
  • analysis of multi-temporal satellite imagery data for monitoring earth dynamics;
  • analysis of time-lapse camera data for monitoring earth dynamics;
  • the use of open source computing environments and processing automation.

I teach MSc and PhD courses on remote sensing and computer programming, predominantly in international environments:

  • course-director of the Applied Earth Sciences MSc programme, 2012-2015;
  • teaching e-learning and classroom courses in an MSc curriculum;
  • teaching tailor-made courses on location (Asia, Africa, Latin America);
  • supervision of over 30 MSc theses and 8 PhD theses;
  • mentoring to facilitate students in managing their own learning experience.
