Through the years I have worked on different approaches to inquiry-based and collaborative learning in the beta subjects, especially knowledge building, and formative assessments of learning processes herein that are carried out by students. More recently, my intersts have shifted tot he impact of research in the learning scences on education more generally. A first step in this direction was the development at the university of Hong Kong of a professional masters for teachers and curreiculum developers. In ELAN I am continuiing with the same theme. Currently I am carrying out an exploratory study of digital innovations for teachers, how teachers use these, and to which effects. This will produce an intentory for teachers and teacher educators, as well as identify new opportunities for research.
