I am mainly intereseted in the field of victim-offender mediation (VOM). With my PhD-research I am focusing on why and how participation in VOM reduces the risk of reoffending. My research is twofold. I am examining if offenders who are willing to participate in VOM are fundamentally different from offenders not willing to participate and if these differences account for the effect on reoffending. THe other focus of my research is on what happens during mediation, how this impacts the offender and if this can explain a lower risk of reoffending.
