Personal profile

Personal profile

My research focuses on eHealth equity: reducing health and social gaps by bridging the digital divide and provide fair and just opportunities for all. Her focus is on groups in disadvantaged situations such as low Socio Economic Status, and groups who face stigma and participation issues related to neurodiversity, mental health problems or intellectual disability. I am a senior researcher and epidemiologist at both the Human Media Interaction (HMI) group of the University of Twente, and Nijmegen Institute of Scientist-Practitioners in Addiction, and a psychiatrist and clinical leader of the Centre for Addiction and Intellectual Disability.

My research at UTwente focuses on the application of technological innovations (such as virtual reality, mobile apps, (remote)sensing) in dual and triple diagnosis. In addition, I work as an epidemiologist studying the epidemiology of dual and triple diagnosis, including risk factors, prevalence, and patient profiles; and the treatment of dual and triple diagnosis, including assessment, dual and triple diagnosis protocols, and integrated clinical pathways (ICP's).
