I am a Civil Engineer with a MSc in Anti-seismic Design and Analysis of Structures and a a second one in Protection of Monuments from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, where I worked from 2004-2007 at the Institute of Structural Analysis and Anti-seismic research. I obtained my PhD in Geotechnical Engineering (2011) from the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona-Tech, Spain, specializing in the Quantitative Rockfall Risk Assessment in Andorra. I worked as a post-doc researcher at the UPC, BarcelonaTech (Marie-Curie European Reintegration Grant &  BBVA fellowship) and at the CIMNE-International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering, on topics related to rockfall and landslide risk. In 2016 I joined the University of Twente and the Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) as an Assistant Professor of Natural Hazards. My research interests include rockfall and landslide hazards, the use of remote sensing methods for rock mass characterization and geotechnical hazards related processes, damage and vulnerability of structures and quantitative risk assessment.
