Personal profile

Roshanak Darvishzadeh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Resources, Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation. She has obtained her PhD in hyperspectral remote sensing of vegetation from Wageningen University and ITC in 2008. Her research interests lie in quantitative remote sensing for mapping and modeling biochemical and biophysical properties of vegetation at different levels using various statistical and radiative transfer models. Her research activities include analysis and exploration of different remote sensing data types for assessing vegetation growth, health, disease, and stress with applications in biodiversity, agriculture, and forestry. She has practical experience in the use of lab and field instruments for measuring vegetation properties as well as quantitative methods for monitoring plant traits. Her career includes 6 years of working in remote sensing image analysis and GIS modeling in private and public sectors before moving to the academic work. She is a member of several professional associations such as GEOSS GEO-BON and AGU. Besides research and coordination in international projects, she is involved in teaching activities, including lecturing, course development, mentoring and supervision of MSc and PhD students.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
