Abstract
With the theme of "reality and illusion", 2024 Dutch Design Week presents how design responds to the flow and uncertainty of reality in an era where technology is rapidly evolving and perception is constantly being reshaped. From the perspective of 'academic design', combined with the author's on-site observation and curatorial experience, this paper sorts out the multiple roles of design as challenger, coordinator, prophet and constructor in this design week. Through in-depth analysis of representative works, this paper discusses how design plays a role in deconstructing and reshaping reality, how to cross the boundaries of science and technology, humanities and ecology, and how to become a key force connecting the present and the future.
