Abstract
This thesis investigates the relationships between road safety, accessibility, and spatial transport equity in Dutch urban areas. Using integrated spatial-statistical methods, it examines how land use, infrastructure, and safety policies shape crash risks and accessibility outcomes. Three studies address built-environment effects, cycling safety and accessibility, and Amsterdam's 30km/h policy. The findings show that improving safety and accessibility can be mutually reinforcing, advancing equitable and sustainable urban mobility planning.
