Abstract

Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurs in one in five hospitalized adults [1] and is associated with increased mortality and risk for chronic kidney disease [2, 3]. Patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) have an increased risk of AKI [2]. Quality of in-hospital AKI care varies [4], and data on AKI management in patients with T2D remain limited. We therefore evaluated the incidence of AKI and quality of in-hospital AKI care in T2D patients.
