Abstract

The INTEGRATION traffic simulation model was developed at Queens University in Kingston, Canada to analyze a number of specialized problems related to the operation and optimization of integrated freeway-arterial traffic networks. Application of the model in the Netherlands resulted in the formulation of dynamic traffic management measures which have been successful in reducing traffic congestion in the country.
