Abstract
In this paper an outline for a strategy to include manufacturing effects in subsequent
simulations for the virtual product development from an industrial point of view is given.
Especially the conditions for a successful mapping of geometry and results between
different applications are discussed. An example shows the significance of the inclusion
of previous simulations in the final assessment of a part.
