Abstract
In this paper, we start from two broad classes of highly distributed applications that can benefit from using WSNs: industrial safety, and transport and logistics processes, respectively. In order to reduce the time and effort needed for the integration of WSNs into such business cases, we provide simple and reliable methods of programming and reconfiguring sensor nodes. We evaluate the complete solution through simulation and practical experiments.
