Abstract
The behaviour of a metal-mirrored Fabry-Perot is studied for the case of a positive intensity induced phase change of thermal origin. With increasing initial detuning three regimes with different transmission bistable loops can be distinguished. An excellent fit between theory and experiment can be obtained using a relatively simple model.
