Abstract

Wellbeing is a concept that is gaining attention in government policy in general, so also for transport, infrastructure and spatial planning. Translating this abstract concept to transport policy plans that actually account for wellbeing, is not easy. By looking at what the scientific literaturehas to say about the relevant aspects for wellbeing, we can determine what a policy plan should contain in order to call it wellbeing-based transport policy. This can also help investigate which types of analyses a transport planner can conduct to attain this ambition. Using a method such as SUMP is a necessity for this.
