Abstract
What are the major changes that characterise the emerging post-industrial society? More specifically, what are the changes in the world of work, education and leisure? What are the implications of these changes for career counselling theories and practices? Building on the ideas of Domenico de Masi and other authors, this paper describes the major characteristics of the post-industrial society and changes in the world of work, education and leisure. Further, it discusses the implications of many of these changes in terms of needs and directions in the field of career guidance.
