Abstract
This book is the third edition of a well-established text, updated and reorganised for our web-oriented world. As before, cartographic issues ranging from projection to thematic transformations are well illustrated throughout the book, as are conceptual models; it is this feature that makes it such a solid introductory text for novices. The incorporation of further colour plates in this edition is particularly welcome in the context of our wider usage of Internet mapping and the push for detail and ‘realism’ within the cartographic realm, trigged by Google Earth and similar developments.
