Abstract
This thesis describes research on electrical transport in structures containing superconductors, normal metals, and insulating barriers. Two types of Josephson junctions are investigated, namely double-barrier SINIS Josephson junctions (with two tunnel barriers and a normal metal or superconductor interlayer) and structures based on the superconductor MgB2.
