Abstract
The aim of the study presented in this study is to map the diverse views of
secondary school teachers on citizenship education in Bulgaria, Croatia, and the
Netherlands; to explore these views and to compare them, in order to arrive at a
richer understanding and possibly to suggest ways for engaging in a debate aimed
at daily teaching practices. The book focuses on authentic teachers’ voices, with teachers talking about the ways they perceive citizenship, citizenship education programs and curricula, politics, and their role in the lives of their students and in their society.
