Abstract
This work presents an analysis of the bibliographic classification system, Universal Decimal Classification - UDC, specifically of classes 592/599, of Systematic Zoology, and proposes a review and reformulation for them, based on the contemporary theories of Systematic Zoology, field that studies The classification of species within the area of Biological Sciences. In order to understand the inventory and the description (taxonomy) of the biodiversity, as well as to understand the phylogenetic relationships (evolution), it was sought to contribute in the literature of the area of Biology, namely in Systematic Zoology, Between organisms. The methodology consisted in concatenating what establishes the studied theory with the representation found in the UDC system, in the Brazilian edition published in 2007, and included to make an analysis clipping in classes 592/595, which represent the invertebrate animals. Both at the time of the analysis of the classes and to present the proposed reformulation was the support of domain experts. The analyzes showed some problems of representation of the taxonomy in the UDC system, and proposals of hierarchical structures were presented for the rearrangement of the classes included in 592/599 (invertebrate living beings), restructured in 593. The results present solutions to the problems of Structural order and some terminological problems (obsolete or insufficient vocabulary to describe a class or species).
