Abstract

The unusual features observed in TEM images of solution-grown fcc C60 crystallites (Z.G. Li and P.J. Fagan, Chem. Phys. Letters 194 (1992) 461) can be explained either by assuming the presence of a bct (body centered tetragonal) phase, or by identifying the bright spots with extremes of the projected charge density, suggesting a hcp phase.
