Abstract

Conventional passive harmonic tags lack built-in capabilities for unique tag identification. Using frequency-selective tags can solve this problem. This paper presents a compact narrowband harmonic tag design based on a spiral loop topology that is easily frequency tunable. The presented measurement results confirm the frequency selectivity of the proposed tags, supporting their potential use as true harmonic RFID.
