Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on global transport and mobility, with lockdowns and social distancing measures leading to a reduction in travel demand. This has created challenges for the transport industry, but also opportunities for research into the transition to a more sustainable mobility system. The book illustrates that the implications for research focus on the evolution of mobility practices, active mobility modes such as cycling, and the transformation of transport planning policies. These areas require further investigation to address the changing landscape of urban mobility management. In short, research perspectives on transport in the post-COVID world revolve around creating more resilient, sustainable and equitable transport systems that prioritise public health, safety and equity, with a renewed interest in urban forms and urban planning strategies and paradigms.
