Abstract

This volume presents the first of four intended annual reports on Condorcet, a domain-specific information retrieval (IR) project carried out at the Knowledge-Based Systems Group of the University of Twente, the Netherlands. The research started officially on 1 September 1995, and is foreseen to run until 1 September 1999. In this report we want to present the results of one year of research; these can be found in chapters 3 and 4. In section 5 we will discuss Condorcet’s next year’s research issues.
