Abstract

A coreless transformer based high voltage (HV) generator is proposed for the intense magnetic field harsh environment applications. Considering the characteristics of low coupling coefficient, small magnetizing inductance and large winding capacitance of the coreless HV transformer, the first harmonic approximation (FHA) based analytical equivalent circuit model are derived by using T type equivalent circuit for the coreless transformer with the coupled inductor model. A 310kHz frequency, 310W output power and 1 kV output HV generator prototypes with litz wire coreless HV transformer are built in lab to validate the contributions of this paper.
