Abstract

In this contribution, we first report on a literature study aimed at describing current HRD developments. The resulting literature report was presented to a group of experts in the field of HRD. The participants were asked to sketch their vision as to the relevance of the HRD developments for their own working organisation. In addition they were asked to describe how and why certain developments do influence the HRD area. The remarks of this group, consisting of both academics as well as practitioners, was used to outline a conceptual framework on current HRD developments and to illustrate the conceptual framework with examples of practices concerning HRD developments in the late 1990s.
