Abstract

This paper describes the influence of the polarization dependent saturable absorption in a Cr4+:YAG crystal on the output parameters of a diode laser pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdV04-laser. Rotation of the Cr4+:YAG crystal changes the pulse length from 30ns to 170ns, while the pulse repetition rate varies from 40kHz to 300kHz.
