Abstract
In this educational research project I have investigated how we can best strengthen the position of design research within the Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) master curriculum. By analysing the way in which design research is actually implemented in the courses I have built a clear picture of the scientific component of the programme. By investigating the students’ experience of this scientific component of the programme through Student Evaluations and two Focus Group sessions, I have been able to formulate specific recommendations how to improve the students perception of design research.
