Abstract
Medical imaging plays a significant role in the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases. In addition to clinical symptoms, various imaging tools are valuable for assessing treatment efficacy. Some national and regional rheumatology organizations, including the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), have recognized the importance of imaging in rheumatic disease classification. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of different imaging modalities, such as conventional radiology, arthrography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging, with a particular focus on comparing these modalities to ultrasound.
