Abstract
In order to predict product distortions when producing thermoplastic composite parts in the Rubber Press Forming process, the occurring fibre re-orientation must be known. From drape experiments on a double dome geometry it is clear that the interlaminar shear behaviour has a dominating effect on the drape behaviour of multi-layered composites. A multi-layer material model, incorporating this interlaminar shear, was implemented into the FE-package DiekA. The predicted fibre distribution was then compared with the experimental results.
