Abstract
In the present study the ground-based measurement was carried out to understand the effect of Aerosol over different site locations (Rural, Mix, Traffic and Industry) around Ahmedabad city. Different parameters like Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), Single Scattering Albedo (SSA), and Asymmetry parameter (g) is used in SBDART radiative transfer model to calculate Direct Aerosol Radiative Forcing (DARF). We have carried out the measurement from the month of September-2020 to March-2021. The analysis was done with the help of SBDART radiative transfer model for the short wave (0.25m to 4.0m) range. Result shows variation of average value of DARF for the Rural, Mix, Traffic and Industry are 48.53, 67.61, 58.55 and 59.61 wm2 respectively. Corresponding average value of AOD and SSA are 0.5071, 0.5766, 0.4845, 0.4827 and 0.7275, 0.6226, 0.6347, 0.6277. Result shows highest ARF at Mix site whereas lowest at Rural site. As rural has highest SSA (more scattering type aerosol) and mix has lowest SSA (more absorbing type Aerosol) results in colling and warming of surrounding atmosphere respectively. Also mix site has highest AOD which results further warming of surrounding. It also indicates seasonal variation of DARF and other optical parameters of SSA
