Abstract

This study was undertaken to learn more about the process of data use in schools. We answered the main research question 'What does the process of formative data use in schools look like?', using four sub-studies that emphasis on an aspect of
formative assessment. This dissertation firstly focuses on the extent to which and how teachers in secondary education use assessment for learning and data-based decision making in their lessons, and subsequently, this dissertation zooms in on data-based decision making (or data use for short).
