Abstract
Functional system dynamics is the analysis, modelling, and simulation
of continuous systems usually described by partial differential
equations. From the infinite degrees of freedom of such systems only
a finite number of relevant variables have to be chosen for a practical
model description. The proper input and output of the system are an
important part of the relevant variables.
