Abstract

At the request of the leadership of the Dutch police and the Dutch gendarmerie, a thorough analysis was made of a large sample of all disciplinary investigations that were opened in 2015 and 2016 against officers for leaking confidential information. Attention was paid to both the nature of the misconduct investigated and the outcome of the investigations initiated. The result is a picture of the leaked information, of the providers and their positions in the organisation, of the recipients and of the damage caused by the leak.96
