Abstract
The results of this study show that the participants derive their arguments especially from the contents and the characteristics of the relevant learning domain. Other characteristics like the composition of the school population are also taken into account. The participants
systematically reflect on these characteristics. They put them against the characteristics of the new reading material to reach a 'logical' decision (§ 3.2.3). In such cases it is possible to speak of a complete decision process. This thesis describes an exploratory study in which the influence of the participants and their arguments when they are choosing these new curriculum-related teaching and learning materials, are investigated.
