Abstract

The conditions leading to optimum conductivity of the Bi₂O₃-Ln₂O₃ system were investigated. The highest conductivity was found for Ln = Er or Tm. Ordering in the oxygen lattice was investigated using neutron diffraction. Correlations were found between the neutron diffraction data and the conductivity.
